Meet the Founder

Liska Bendon

Educational and Developmental

Psychologist | Board-Approved Supervisor

I am Liska, founder and director at Bright Minds. I am an Educational and Developmental Psychologist with over eight years of experience working in schools, private practice and tertiary level educational settings. I am a Board-Approved Supervisor, who can comfortably provide 1:1 mentoring to those working with children and young people, displaying neurodivergent behaviours or trauma in educational settings.

I have worked in consultative roles, partnering not only with school staff and leadership teams but also with professionals in broader developmental and allied health settings. My work has included contributing to leadership teams, developing systems that promote wellbeing and inclusion, and equipping professionals with practical, psychology-informed strategies to support diverse needs.

I am deeply committed to empowering educators, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to feel confident and capable when supporting neurodivergent individuals and those with trauma‑related needs, by equipping them with practical, everyday strategies that genuinely improve outcomes. Through my work across a range of settings, I have seen the powerful difference it can make when professionals are supported to respond in neuro-affirming and trauma-informed ways, creating environments where individuals feel understood, safe, and able to participate and thrive.

In addition to my work in schools, I have guest lectured at Melbourne University for the past four years and have delivered more than 30 professional development sessions across a range of organizations. I am also a regular guest speaker for MHiPS (Mental Health in Primary Schools) and professional network meetings, supporting broader conversations on trauma-informed practice, wellbeing, inclusion, and best practice across educational and developmental settings.

Professional Contributions

I have also contributed to academic publications and professional resources related to trauma-informed and inclusive practice, learning, and wellbeing.
